Okay, so the SL has been quiet these past few weeks, and that's okay. All roleplaying SL's do that sometimes, especially since the moderators are busy with their own lives. Let me give you something to think about.
Laurie has been sick all week with sinusitis. Not to mention she's moving out of her house and into a new place, and she has been busy packing for a move that her and her family were not prepared for. Give her some slack people. She's had it rough these past few months, so trying to get activity with this group is the last thing that she needs to worry about.
I have been busy with my school work. As most of you know, I'm taking online classes right now because the program has not opened up on campus. Just because I'm home all the time and I am on the computer does not mean I'm available. These are my last few weeks in my classes before I start another quarter. So that means I have finals coming up, and the teachers decided to bomb us with work before finals hit. Also, I've been trying to get a job. My mother had major neck surgery in January and I've been home taking care of her. Now that she's able to do things on her own, I can start job hunting again. And everyone knows how bad the economy is right now and how its nearly impossible to get a job ANYWHERE! So again, cut me some slack people. I'm trying to get my life back on track. I'm trying to graduate from college. I'm trying to get a job. I may have had all the time in the world earlier to roleplay, but shit happens. Life happens. And I don't need people telling me or Laurie that the SL has been inactive and no one is playing.
WELL GUESS WHAT PEOPLE! Guess what you can do? You can open a room yourselves! You can start roleplaying with other people in rooms or on the message board. You DO NOT need Laurie or I to hold your hand or provide entertainment when you have the full power to do it yourselves. I'm not trying to be a bitch or anything, but I'm trying to tell yall that you don't need one of us to roleplay. You don't need our characters around to start a storyline. You can very well do it yourselves.
Now that you know what's REALLY going on, maybe you can give us some slack and start becoming active yourselves. If you would like to involve our characters in a storyline, thats great, I'm all for it, but don't get offended if we don't respond soon because like mentioned above, we have A LOT of shit going on with our lives. Of course we will respond when we have the time, don't think we won't, it's just we will respond when we get around to it.
And I know this group is small. We don't have a lot of people. And that's okay. But feel free to invite your friends. Feel free to open up a recruiting room. Get more people involved. It's not rocket science, believe me. If it was, I would be failing miserably because I'm terrible at science.
And for those of you who have been roleplaying and starting stories on the boards, THANK YOU!! You are a tremendous help and we appreciate EVERYTHING that you do.
